DOJ has adopted a final rule authorizing the National Fraud
Enforcement Division and, in relevant part, assigning to the NFED “All criminal
proceedings arising under the internal revenue laws.” See AG Order No.
7108-2026, 91 FR 53357 (8/18/26), here,
adding Subpart M-National Fraud Enforcement Division 0.70 General Functions
assigned to the NFED.
